The R&D and manufacture of wind power equipment is an industrial project harnessing the integration capability and strengths of the aerospace system, especially on the capabilities and advantages in self-innovation and tackling of technical problems.  The aerospace wind power, in stressing on achieving "large scale, industrialization and maximization of effectiveness", aims to develop aerospace-brand wind turbines of self-developed intellectual property rights of an international advanced level, and establish a relatively large scale of industrialization in the development of the aerospace wind turbine manufacture industry.

At present, China Energine produces wind turbine generator system of the types: 900KW direct-drive wind turbine, 1,500KW variable-speed constant-frequency wind turbine, and 2,000KW permanent-magnet direct-drive wind turbine. It also has the technologies and capability of production of supporting generators, blades, control system and other core components in relation to wind turbine assembling.  The R&D of 3-5MW permanent-magnet direct-drive wind turbines has achieved a phasic  progress.

In the development of wind fields with emphasis on the R&D and manufacture of wind turbine equipment, taking into account the appropriate optimum size of investment thereon, China Energine plans to build 10 million KW wind power bases in territories rich in wind resources such as Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Hebei and Jiangsu in developing the aerospace wind power industry.
